Inside the ring, out on the highways
Manitoba Casinos Online, Ring and Road
Three venues in this independent guide sit inside Winnipeg's Perimeter Highway, and the rest sit outside it, most of them out on Manitoba's numbered highways. Drag the ring outward from City Hall to see what is within reach in a straight line and open at this hour, Central Time.

Distances run in straight lines from Winnipeg City Hall rather than by road, and hours follow the published Central Time schedules, so check each venue's own site for holiday hours. Kiinu Gaming Centre (Highway 6) and Swan Lake First Nation Gaming Centre #7 have no published coordinates, so they are not placed.

Inside the Perimeter
Three venues sit inside the Perimeter Highway, and MBLL operates all three. From City Hall in a straight line, Club Regent Casino is 6.8 km away, McPhillips Station 3.2 km and the Shark Club 0.9 km. One Casinos of Winnipeg Club Card earns points at gaming stations and table games in each of them.
The two casinos keep the same clock. They run 10 AM to 3 AM Sunday to Thursday, and Friday and Saturday shifts last until 5 AM. Both deal live tables every day, 5:30 PM to 3:00 AM. Each has approximately 1,200 slot machines, including progressives, video poker, keno and electronic bingo.
Downtown, the Shark Club bills itself as Winnipeg's only downtown gaming centre. It runs 10 am to 1 am every day, with blackjack, roulette and double deck from 3:30 pm.

After dark
After dark and at the tables
An hour after midnight belongs to the shift that began the evening before, so a Saturday shift ending at 5 AM ends on Sunday morning. Club Regent and McPhillips Station close last in this guide, at 5 AM after Friday and Saturday evenings and at 3 AM on other nights. South Beach closes at 3:00 am daily. Kiinu and Niichi run to 2:15 am Monday through Saturday and to 12:00 am on Sunday. Aseneskak closes at 1:00 am Monday to Thursday and 2:00 am on Friday and Saturday, while Sand Hills runs to 2:00 AM, or 3:00 AM on Friday and Saturday.
Live tables start earliest at the Shark Club, at 3:30 pm, and deal until 1 am. At Club Regent and McPhillips Station, tables deal every day, 5:30 PM until 3:00 AM. Aseneskak's tables open 6:00 PM to 1:00 AM, Tuesday to Saturday. South Beach lists single-zero roulette among its table games but publishes no table hours. Sand Hills has no live table games at all.
No venue in this guide lists a poker room. The poker-style games at the Winnipeg casinos, such as Crazy 4 Poker, are house-banked table games, and Aseneskak lists Texas Hold'em among its table games.

Who runs what
Who runs Manitoba's casinos
Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries (MBLL) holds the exclusive authority to conduct and manage lottery schemes for the government. It operates the three city venues: Club Regent Casino, McPhillips Station Casino and the Shark Club Gaming Centre. Seven First Nations own South Beach, and the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs owns Sand Hills. Aseneskak belongs to a partnership of First Nations. At those three casinos, MBLL conducts and manages the games under agreements with a licensed gaming operator.
Manitoba's Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Authority (LGCA) oversees gaming and issues licences to casinos and to gaming industry employees. The legal age is 18: anyone younger must not take part in provincial gaming. The Winnipeg casinos ask for valid photo ID.
Online
Playing online
PlayNow.com, run by MBLL with BCLC as its platform partner, launched in Manitoba in January 2013. No other gambling site is licensed in Manitoba.
Most gambling sites advertised to Manitobans are not regulated in Manitoba. The LGCA cannot make such a site follow Manitoba law, so a player could be left with an unpaid win. An ad for a gambling site does not mean it is legal.
The home page here holds paid links, labelled Ad, that point to a single third-party online casino site. Manitoba has issued it no licence. Those links pay the guide a commission; the partner itself may change.
Questions
Asked most
Which casinos stay open latest?
Club Regent and McPhillips Station are the last to close, at 5 AM after Friday and Saturday evening shifts. That means 5 AM on Saturday or Sunday morning. Sunday to Thursday, both close at 3 AM.
Where are the live tables, and when do they run?
Live tables at Club Regent and McPhillips Station deal every day, 5:30 PM until 3:00 AM. The Shark Club starts earliest, 3:30 pm to 1 am every day, and Aseneskak runs tables Tuesday to Saturday, 6:00 PM to 1:00 AM. Sand Hills has no live table games.
Is there a poker room in Manitoba?
No venue in this guide lists a poker room. The poker-style games at the Winnipeg casinos, such as Crazy 4 Poker, are house-banked table games, and Aseneskak lists Texas Hold'em among its table games.
What is the legal age, and what ID should I bring?
The legal age in Manitoba is 18. Only original ID passes at the Casinos of Winnipeg: for instance a Manitoba ID card, passport or driver's licence, or two government-issued IDs, one with a photo. Photographs, scans and photocopies of ID are not accepted.
Is there a casino in Brandon or Thompson?
No venue in this guide is in either city. Sand Hills Casino lies 47.0 km from Brandon as the crow flies, and Aseneskak Casino lies 304.1 km from Thompson.
Is this site a casino?
Accounts and bets have no place here: the guide is independent and runs no casino. On the home page, any link marked Ad is a paid one, and every such link points to one online casino partner that pays this site a commission.
Help
Help and self-exclusion
Run by Shared Health, the Gambling Helpline at 1-800-463-1554 picks up round the clock, free and confidential.
MBLL Voluntary Self-Exclusion reaches PlayNow.com and the province-run casinos; the minimum term can be set at 3 years, 2 years, 1 year or 6 months.
First Nations casinos run their own exclusion programmes, so ask at the venue itself.
